Chef Robert Fair
Creator of The Guys Guide

A San Franciscan since birth, Robert Fair first started his culinary endeavors at the young age of 8 years old. Growing up in an Italian-Irish family, working with food and wine was just part of the daily docket. “While my friends and family would be watching the Thanksgiving-Day Football games, I’d be in the kitchen helping my Mom and Aunts stuff the bird!” Half way through college in San Diego, Robert soon realized that his professional future didn’t lie in the books of his classrooms, but rather in the sauté pans of his dinner parties.

After graduating from the California Culinary Academy, he found a calling in the area of recipe development. He won the CCA Iron Chef Competition in 2000, and went on to work in some of the Bay Area’s top fine dining establishments. “Restaurants were fun, but there is a certain satisfaction of teaching someone how to make something amazing!”  Following a burgeoning desire to teach, Chef Robert took an instructor position in Scottsdale, Arizona as the Culinary Director for the gourmet culinary company, Sur La Table.

My time at Sur La Table was great. It gave me the opportunity to work with some of the worlds most famous and incredible chefs!” During his classes at Sur La Table, Chef Robert quickly picked up on the constant complaints of his female students and their culinary- incompetent significant others. Realizing that this was a WIN-WIN situation for both Men and Women, he set out to teach his fellow guys incredibly easy recipes that were sure to impress.

Now back in California, Robert has introduced his new interactive web site, “TheGuysGuide.tv ”, in which he teaches guys how to “Fake it Like Pro” in order to woo their women in the kitchen. “I’m really excited about the new video recipes and the website! There’s really nothing else out there like it, and I know that guys and girls are gonna love it!”
